Radon Mitigation
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can accumulate indoors, especially in basements and lower levels of homes. Long-term exposure to high levels of radon is a known risk factor for lung cancer, making it important to monitor and mitigate when necessary.

Acceptable Levels of Radon
Radon is measured in picocuries per liter (pCi/L) in the U.S., and becquerels per cubic meter (Bq/m³) in many other countries.
United States (EPA Guidelines):
Below 2 pCi/L: Considered very low risk. No action typically required.
2 – 4 pCi/L: Not ideal, but still considered acceptable. The EPA recommends mitigation if possible.
4 pCi/L or higher: Mitigation strongly recommended. This is the EPA’s action level.

What To Do If Radon Levels Are High?
If radon levels are at or above the recommended action level:
Hire a qualified radon mitigation contractor.
Install a radon mitigation system, such as a sub-slab depressurization system, which vents radon outside.
Retest after mitigation to confirm effectiveness
